Legumes:
Autumn: peas, broad beans
Spring: beans, snow peas
Brassicas & Leafy Greens:
Autumn: cabbages, broccoli, cauliflower, spinach
Spring: lettuces, rocket, Asian greens
Root Crops:
Autumn: parsnip, turnip, swede
Spring: carrots, beetroots, radishes
Rest in winter with green manures, then add compost and animal manures
Corn & Curcubits:
Corn, cucumber, squash, zucchini, melons, 3 sisters guild
Rest in winter with green manures, then add manures and potash
Solanums:
Capsicum, all tomatoes, chilli, eggplant
Add lime
Alliums:
Autumn: garlic, leek
Spring: chives, onions, shallots
This gets tricky in my garden because the backyard beds aren't suitable for growing anything but leafy greens through the winter, and at least part of the winter, the chook tractor should sit on the bed.
The chook tractor should be followed by Corn & Curcubits or Solanums, particularly so long as we have five chooks rummaging around in there and I'm tipping the chookhouse manures in.
